It's been really quite until lately when things have picked up somewhat so here's another log to toss on the old chat fire. What were your favorite dolls of 2003? Can be Candis, Fashion Royalty, Barbie, Tyler, Gene, Kitty Collier, Alex, Ann Estelle, playline, collectible line, whatever! Then, what dolls are you looking forward to in 2004? OT: Birthstones

Hi all, It's been so quiet here lately? Has everyone moved on to Veronique? Or another doll? Earlier this year, we were talking about the Birthstone Barbies. I was at the Barbie Collectibles site looking at 2004 dolls, and noticed that they are doing the Birthstone dolls all over again in 2004 In looking at the photos, it doesn't seem like anything has changed except the doll's face and hair. The gown seems exactly the same to me. I wish they would've changed the gown at least a little, even though last year's is lovely. It seems they are offering the same month/gown color with a different haircolor. Instead of the semi-curly hair they had last year, the doll's hair is parted on the side and combed over straight. For example, October's doll I think was a blonde last year, but this year it is a brunette; last year's September/Sapphire was a blonde, and now it is a redhead, last year's August/Peridot was a raven/dark brunette, and this year is a blonde! Happy Holidays

HI All, Yes, it has been very slow around here. I think people are just busy, and in my case I have had the flu for over a week. Ugh. Finally seem to be kicking that last little bit of cough though. I may survive. LOL Not a lot of new dolls to talk about either. None of the stores here have had anything new since they restocked for Christmas, and there wasn't a lot of new stuff then. I would kill for a new FA or anything. I agree about the birthstone dolls. A new dress would have been nice. I didn't even buy my month the first time around, as she was an insipid blonde. Maybe this time, but I think I would rather save up for one of the lounge Kitties. The new Barbie Bazaar has one on the front, and they are really cute. Enough rambling on. I did want to wish everyone here a happy holiday season, and a joyous and prosperous new year. The dolls used to sell for $60 and now they are over $100. Pretty, but I just can't do it. The lounge kitties are Mattel. Here is a sneak peek photo posted on the Barbie Collectibles board. If I had more discretionary money, I would get both. I think they are darling, and the chairs are so cute. Keep up the conversation guys. I have really been enjoying peoples opinions. Maybe we should get ourselves organized as well, and have a little list garage sale. Since many of us seem to be weeding out things. What if we set a date a month or so from now, and everyone post their FS lists on one day? That would motivate people to sort, and I really like to sell to list people. LOL He really is pretty good, but I can always tell when I have gone too far. He grumbled about the last ponytail I brought home, but she was only $50, so I stuck to my guns on that one. He also gave me a bad time about my number 3 that I spent $100.00 on, till I showed him what they were going for on Ebay. He is less forgiving about new dolls, but I am so cheap that unless they are really on sale, I don't buy them. Plus he is buying himself a new woodworking machine that is going to cost well over $1000, so I figure I am in the clear for a while. LOL Also, re your question about Cat woman. I think she can be redressed, but I have heard that the gloves/claws on her hands are painted on. Still interesting. Again, check Barbie Bazaar for some great photos. Even have some without her mask. She has some really pretty face paint. I still think we should plan for our Candichat garage sale. How about the first weekend in Feb. That will give everyone a whole month to sort and plan. Even if most people only sell a couple of things that will give everyone a couple less fees they have to pay to Ebay. I don't do Paypal either, as I refuse to let them have access to my bank account, and they were charging too much to use them otherwise. I like personal e-mails too, so add me to the old fashioned set. I really hate auctions that are Paypal only. I just cruise on by. At least give me the option of a MO, and I bid a lot more on auctions where I can write a check. Oh well, that is progress for you. For the record, I don't own a cell phone either. LOL Kathy M. Kathy M & all.....I agree the new Kellys are awful in comparison....what have they done to our adorable Kelly. But I guess they feel the need to change face molds, just as they have done to Barbie over the years. I just hope they bring her back.
