Am I nuts or what???

Me again, I hate to be a pest but I wanted to mention that my total boxed collection of Barbie and Candi and other fashion dolls are not completely figures in the the amount of dolls I previously mentioned. I am not a deboxer (I take just a few out) so all these new shelves are lined with all my boxed dolls also. Here is a good idea for anyone wanting to put shelves up. The shelf goes up and they you get a piece of wood about 1-1/2" on the top and about 5" long. They come in 12' lengths. I put them in the back of the shelf and it becomes a "riser" allowing you to have an extra "layer" of dolls. So you can put boxes/dolls on the top shelf which would be the "riser" and then more dolls on the shelf - now you will have two "layers" - it has to be adjusted so that you can put a doll on the shelf and still be able to see the dolls on the riser. In front of them I am putting my de-boxed dolls so you sort of have 3 layers. Karla

I'm always looking for them, too, and it's not easy! I have the Princess Marie doll from the Anastasia movie and a couple of vintage mystery dolls (possibly by Uneeda) with salt n pepper grey hair. I keep looking for the Happy Family Grandma doll. Fat dolls are even harder to find. I have Mimi and Rosie. Finding a grey haired, fat, womon of color doll would really make my day!! For those interested in the Avon dolls SEARCH EBAY. Simply Charming Barbie is not getting any bids. There is one going for $9.99 right now. Seems silly to pay full price when you can get them so cheap. Randall

Thank you Melissa, We're very excited. We've been married 12 years and never thought we could. So We are very very thrilled, even if he gets my dollie room:) hahaha Maybe there will be a room for them later. I am not going to stop collecting though. It might slow down due to the $$$$. Hi there, I know Avon had some fashion dolls years ago, Jenna and Kenzie I beleive. Then the did some bride and groom dolls then later on the Avon Barbies. Which ones are you refering to? Are they doing something new that I dont know of? Randall

I was collecting Barbies back with Avon started doing them but, as usual, they overproduced and all the ones I had can still be obtained at 1/4 the retail price ... Perhaps they are now doing a better job at keeping production numbers low. Randall

Hello Jan, Welcome aboard. What do you collect? I've been collecting 11.5" OFDs. I have very few Mattel dolls and even fewer B*rbie's. My goal was to track down as many different faces as I could and avoid as many blond dolls as possible. I've been reasonable successful and now have a collection that more closely resembles the real world. I was thrilled when I found the Candi dolls. My biggest request from all the doll manufacturers now is to give us a few fat and/or elder dolls.
