O.K., time to answer my own question. <Wink>
2003 Favorites
1) Hands down, numero uno, the Fashion Royalty
line, particularly Adele! The Mauve Absolue Veronique was really
gorgeous as well. Unbelievable quality, affordable pricing, great value,
exquisite dolls and fashions! Good thing for Mattel that they don't
manufacture these in hgh numbers. LOL
The rest of my picks in no particular order
are:
2) Basic Candis, especially Sunkissed, White
Russian, and Red Russian. Really lovely dolls, and by Jason Wu again. Boy,
this guy is talented!
3) Brunette Brilliance Mackie Barbie: I've always
had a fondness for the Mackies and this doll seemed to be of a higher caliber in
design and quality than some of the others Mackie has done in
recent years.
4) The Raider Barbie and Ken giftset: If for no
other reason than we saw a hunkier and sexier version of Ken.
5) Waltz Barbie and Ken giftset: I know it was a
slow seller that got heavily discounted later on but I still really liked this
set to put next to last year's Tango set.
6) Lucy Gets A Paris Gown and Lucy L.A. At
Last dolls: Hey, it's Lucy. I always love Lucy!
7) Wizard of Oz Kelly and Tommy set and Kelly
Nostalgics set: Loved em when they came out and may love em even more now that
Mattel's gone and uglied out their Kelly head molds.
8) Tonner's Esme: Double Take, Wild Orchid,
Mesmerizing, you name it, I love this doll!
9) OOAKs: Although I havn't bought as many as in
previous years, I still will always love OOAKs, repaints, and OOAK fashions. The
level of talent and creativity out there is amazing (and many times better than
that of the in-house design teams at the doll companies) although you have to
steer clear of a lot of dreck at the same time. Probably my favorite OOAK
purchase was a set of Kellys done up as mini Bob Mackie dolls from his
original series of 10 Barbies. Nothing cuter than a mini Neptune or Queen of
Hearts next to her big sister.
2004 Picks
Fashion Royalty line
Badgley Mischka, Kate Spade, Kelly Witches set,
Tommy Elvis set, Bob Mackie 45th Anniversary Caucasian and African American,
Lounge Kitties, Flintstones Kelly & Tommy set, Scooby Doo Kelly & Tommy
set, Diana Ross, and Catwoman (Can ya tell I like
Kelly and Tommy dolls? LOL)
Esme by Tonner
Violet Waters by Ashton Drake
OOAKS!!
That's it for me!

Subject: Your Personal Favorites?
It's been really quite until lately when
things have picked up somewhat so here's another log to toss on the old chat
fire.
What were your favorite dolls of 2003? Can
be Candis, Fashion Royalty, Barbie, Tyler, Gene, Kitty Collier, Alex, Ann
Estelle, playline, collectible line, whatever!
Then, what dolls are you looking forward to in
2004?
Should be fun to see everyones' opinions.
Enjoy!
