Karla, Don't worry, people do collect alot of dolls. You are lucky in that you can display your collection and enjoy your dolls. The census bureau of my doll town closed shop after counting 300 dolls in 1995. The census folk shudder at the idea of being called back to active duty. My Husband took a week's vacation to "fix" my Barbie and Candi areas in my Family Room which is downstairs. I know I wrote a little bit about this last week. Anyway, we started last Sunday and I am still down there today - now that everything is out of the way but my dolls I actually got a good look at all the dolls I have and am beginning to think I am going crazy!!! My husband put up shelves on every wall - I have the sofa in the middle so it didn't take up any extra space and now I am concerned that I am still not going to have enough room. I have been collecting dolls for about 18 years and those were porcelain and a Barbie here and there although I grew up with Barbie. Then I made porcelains dolls for about 7 years and was starting to get into Candi. I have purchased a "gazillion" play dolls and I have fashion avenue outfits and other clothes sets that look like they are going to take up half the room. I have an extra room off the Family Room and I had all my things in there for when I made dolls - We had to clear out all that (what a nightmare) and now I am literally "stocking" the shelves in there with Candi and Barbie play dolls - the idea being that when this all came together I would then be able to play, LOL, dress the dolls in all these gorgeous outfits, etc. The room looks like a store just fully stocked!! I feel extremely overloaded. Please write and tell me that yes, people do collect as many as 1,800 dolls - either you or friends or anyone. Well, I am off to the doll rooms. Thanks,Karla
