My little toy poodle had to have his teeth cleaned on Thursday night - he had bad teeth and we don't know why or where he got it because he comes from a long line of Champions - he was as the Vet all day and when we picked him up Thursday night we were shocked to find out that they took out 14 teeth. My husband and I were so stunned!! The Vet said alot of the teeth were so loose they were already half out. He now has 15 teeth left and he is only 7-1/2 yrs. old. It just breaks our hearts because now he is on several medications for pain and an antibiotic. I am so worried about him losing more teeth although the Vet said that is unlikely if we keep "on top of it." He has to go back in 3 months. "Giorgio" doesn't know what is going on and he keeps licking the outside of his mouth - we have him on chicken soup for the next few days.
