I am actually a fan of real furs ... I know, there is so much opposition to the fur industry ... rightfully so but there's not much faux that is as luxurious.
I've wanted a Lazarus mink for my dolls for so long ... of course seeing the ones on Barbie Bazaar sparked my interest even further!
You all know the company Ty (that makes beanie babies). They produce a line of stuffed animals called Beanie Buddies. Basically they are larger versions of beanie babies. Anyhow, the buddies are made of a faux fur called "Tylon". It is very nice quality! I have often thought of buying one and cutting it apart to make my dollies a fur. I used to have a pattern for a fur coat that was very simple but I've lost it over the years. Anybody have a good pattern???? Shame on me, I know. Being a designer I should make my own patterns but my expertise now lies in the full size clothing and I just get too frustrated when I make doll clothes from concept to creation. However, I have made a few outfits lately from premade patterns (only because they were perfectly fitted).

I thought about a similar project to, some time ago. LOL But I never have done it, I was always thinking "oh this poor little animal". ;-)

Do you know Carols patterns? She has a lot of jackets on her CD which can be easily tranformed into coats. http://www.perestroika.ca/
