Hi All,
I'm behind on list mail again but happened to open this message this morning. The only Candis that Ken did the facial screening for that were actually produced were the 1998 Christmas Candis. There are pics of them, as well as the 1997 Mikelman brunette and red haired Christmas Candis on the in stock page of my site. Here is the direct link for your convenience: http://members.aol.com/SuzW397026/stock.htm

Ken Bartrams Facial screenings were used on the 98 or was it 99 Christmas Candi dolls, The Hispanic, Swedish, Danish, I am not sure he ever did any of the AA Candi dolls though. I have several of the Candi dolls that have his facial screenings on them! I'l try and find some pics of his designs for the facial screenings and post them!! TTYS Kevin
Okay, I am behind in my CAndi history. Then how would most of you compare the style of screening used by MiKelman vs. Bartram? As I've never seen the 1998 Christmas Candis (didn't even remember there were any, that's how behind I am), I can't definitely comment on the distinction in their styles, but would it be safe to say that Ken's style of screening is a bit more conservative in colorization? I'm recollecting that MiKelman's style was to use a larger area of eye shadow on the brow bone. What do the rest of you think? Hi everyone,
I tried to post earlier but my computer chose that moment to freeze up on me, so to my knowledge the message never went out.
Anyhow.... Suzanne had posted earlier that the 1998 Christmas Candi dolls were the only Ken Bartram dolls produced. I thought he also did the Holiday Pinups... If he didn't, out of curiousity, who did? I have all four of those (Bettie Page, AA, Asian, and Swedish) and the Asian one is one of my favorite dolls ever. Her lips are painted almost like the Barbie Steffie mold, and the painting on her is so delicate, almost like a watercolor.
My favorites are the Mikelman Candi dolls, especially the Secrets series and the pink Mikelman box dolls (which I guess covers a great number of Candi dolls, doesn't it?:)). I do like the current fashions much better. I have no bought any of the Integrity Candi's yet, but I own almost all the of the 1994-1998 dolls. I think I am only missing a couple of the retros. I am not sure why I haven't bought any of the new ones yet, because I do think they are beautiful. I guess my collecting is a little slow right now, too.
