Hi!
Well.... I did it! I got a new doll, Tyler Wentworth, and she's making me as close to happy as I can get since my first Candi. She's a really beautiful doll and her clothing is amazing. One of the skirts actually has real pockets! There's no Velcro on anything, everything has clasps. Her size makes her easy to dress. The bendable knee joints are not very attractive but I like her face paint, it's subtle and natural, which is my preference over blue/green eye shadows. The blonde is quite pale, the brunette has stronger coloring with thicker eyebrows and more vivid eye makeup, but both quite lovely. The down side of her is that she's expensive! Whew, I blew a wad! I'm scared about getting carried away, do any of you ever feel that when you get the dolly bug? lol I'm going to get a couple of more things from Suz. I've been listening to you guys talk about how nice she is for years, and you're right, she's great.... just hope she contacts me soon to let me know the stuff I want is in! Boy! do I have it bad! This must be the closest thing to being a drug addict???!!! lol
I was reading e-magazine and went to a link at http://www.virtualdolls.com/playboydolls.htm It's the anatomically correct collectible fashion doll by Playboy, Inc. and apparently has generated some controversy. They've produced two dolls. Have any of you seen either of them? I'm wondering what your opinion is on them, do they really appeal to the legitimate fashion doll collector (is there such a thing?)? The body looks okay to me, but the face is really ugly, imho.

Hi Dena, In addition to the RTW Winter I got the SS Brown. I'm having such fun with them. May I ask, since you mention you have worked with hair, do you know of a way to get rid of the line caused by the band holding the ponytail in place? I combed out the hair on the SS Brown an even washed it, but the line is still there. I'd love to see a picture of your doll in the outfit you made; Elizabeth is right, these bigger dolls are expensive and it would be neat to be able to make an outfit instead of buying one. Thanks. So you got the Tyler bug? Tee hee. I only have a few Tylers (and friends) as well because the larger dolls are that much more expensive. Which Tylers did you get?
As for the playboy dolls - well I think the doll is geared more towards the male person who reads playboy and I like the realism but agree the faces don't look so crash hot. It's not a doll I will go out and buy anyway.

Hi Lunar, Yep, got the bug... hee hee... as long as I'm confessing, in addition to the RTW Winter and the SS Brown I also got the blonde Casual Luxury. Ohmigawd, are they all so beautiful?... but gulp, you're right, expensive! I can't stop right now, have a few outfits ordered, and waiting to hear from Suze.... then I'll stop... I think... lol... I was even on eBay, but like Elizabeth said, that can make you go broke... sigh... so much to buy so little money... lol... Talking about eBay, have you noticed that some items have reserves that are higher than if you purchased the same item from a website. Not to mention the shipping costs. $3.50 to $8.00 an item may not seem like much, but start counting and it ends up being a lot. I got my Tylers on sale from the same place and that cut down on shipping. I think you're right about the Playboy dolls being geared for the male buyer... perhaps they purchase them to line up on their bookshevles or something... It's been ages and ages since I've been able to bid on e-bay so I've lost touch there. I'm waiting to hear about a bonus in my next pay and if it's as much as I think it might be then I think a portion of that will go to maybe a new Tyler or a couple of outfits. I've got a Signature Style blonde tyler on lay-by almost paid off. My most recent Tyler is the Spring RTW who is just simply gorgeous with those soft red curls and green eyes! I'd like the Winter and Fall as well - Summer being my least favourite but we'll see how things go! LOL.

You got a RTW Spring?!!!! LUCKY YOU! They're hard to get right now. She's a gorgeous doll and very much in demand. I saw a OOAK makeover on e-Bay using her, almost seemed sacrilegious to touch her, but it was lovely nonetheless. One thing you might want to do is surf the web sites that sell Tyler, some of the dealers are having sales on the older outfits, I've gotten a couple at approx. 50% off, which is cheaper than buying them off e-Bay. Hope your bonus is good. :-))))

I'm hoping my bonus is a good too Robin. LOL. But knowing this place they got it all wrong and we're not getting anything.
I got my Srping Tyler about 6 weeks ago. I got her from Cherished Friends and was lucky because Lynn had 8 more coming in and she said to order quick or they'll be gone - so naturally I said yes keep one for me straight away!
Have you got links to any of these dealers with the sales on Tyler outfits?

lol... Your work better not have it wrong! I think Suz has great prices, I'm waiting to get new stuff from her. The old stuff with good prices I got at www.lovemydolls.com and www.afdoll.com and www.netdoll.com The last one, my stuff has already arrived and they were amazing to do business with, shipped the day of the order, excellent communications, even sent me a UPS tracking number so I could follow the item in the mail (lol, I was really eager!). They have a lovely website, shows pictures of the workers with their stories, I guess that made me feel like I could trust them, and they were great! I think you really have to look at a lot of site to get the best sale prices because one will have a good price on one thing, but not on another thing. They're starting to sell out at these prices, so I didn't get everything I wanted, but probably thats a good thing because I might never stop! lol RTW Spring is soooooooooooooo gorgeous. My Candi gals are pouting... I haven't touched them in weeks... lol... Robin
