Hallo!

Hello!
www.mfd.net Lingerie Controversy As many of you know, Lingerie #6 has received an enormous amount of
negative publicity in the media, citing the doll as inappropriate for children. It's unfortunate that the media has chosen to depict Mattel as the bad guys here rather than report that doll is an Adult Collectable, not a children's toy. However, due to the scrutiny of the media, Lingerie #6 Barbie (and Mattel) has become the butt of a lot of jokes. Although this is certainly not the first time Mattel has unfairly received unfavorable publicity, the top brass at Mattel US has had enough.
Today I received confirmation from Mattel Canada that the Lingerie #6
Barbie dolls are in their warehouse and have been quarantined. Until Mattel US makes a decision, the dolls will sit there and will not be shipped out to stores. Although the "A Model's Life" Gift Set has not been officially slated for quarantine, there are rumours that it too will be affected.
The only recourse that I personally can see Mattel taking, is to redress
the dolls in something that the media will find acceptable. Personally, I don't think it's right that uninformed media representatives should dictate how my dolls should look. There's still time to stop this from happening.
I urge collectors to write Mattel US immediately, stating clearly why they
should release the Lingerie #6 Doll as they are. Don't be afraid to show your feelings since collecting is all about "feelings". But, it's important to be precise, polite and stay focused on this issue. Time is of the essence. Emails can be sent to alice.sato@mattel.com .
I'll keep you posted, as news becomes available.
Thanks!
Marg
