Hi! I would like to help writing documentation for gpc. My project, writing german documentation for gpc died because nobody was interested helping me and its too much for just one man. I would prefer to discuss documentation-related topics on the gpc-doc-mailinglist (gpc-doc(a)gnu.de) . There are still some questions left: - Is Texinfo 4.0 ok? - Which options do you use to create the diffs - Are there any documentation-standards, I have to recognize? Eike

Thanks to Marco for pointing out a stupidity (and for not sending it to the list!) but I was also checking on the subranges (really!) where the values are not trapped it seems and I don't seem to be able to check them (apart from in the coding of course). Is there a way to do this? It seems the Borland {$r+} is not recognised. Help Needed

Dear Colleagues I am a pascal programmer and used to do programming in Unix environment. Now I am in a new place where it has only Linux machine. I would like to call a fortran routine from a main pascal program. I used to do this in Sun machine using the following command pc -o output pf.p ff.o where ff.o is made using f77 -c ff.f; out is executable file. In side my pascal program I defined (declared) the fortran subroutine as follows: function xx(var ...; var ...) :double; external fortran OR function xx(var ...; var ...) :double; external; (I believe here is my problem; above lines) In my current machine I have g77 (fortran equivalent) and gpc. I can get ff.o but when I use on-line commamd : gpc -o output pf.p ff.o. It gave me problems. There is not enough document in man pages to help me? Your help will be highly appciated? Event driven etc ...

Does anyone know/use GNU Pascal for interrupt driven events so that input comes from, say, different controllers completely asynchronously? There may be a better language (Ada?) and may need some C interface of course to handle the actual hardware. Clues? John

I remeber someone else having the same problem, but I can't find it in my archive. division by zero

Hi, I just came across the following problem: In a program for numerical computations I use constants for variables with a fixed value because I hope the compiler can produce faster code then. This gives me compiletime errors (division by zero) in code like that: *********************************** CONST a=0; VAR b: double; BEGIN IF a<>0 THEN b:=10/a; END. *********************************** I tried to look this up in the extended pascal standard and found nothing that would make the above code fragment illegal. But the standard is not quite easy to read, so it is very possible I just didnÂ´t understand it.
