Error cannot exec 'mips-tfile'

I have installed a binaries version of GPC on DEC OSF 4.0. when I try to compile a simple source code below : program hello; begin writeln('Helo World'); end. i got the error like this : Sisfo:yondra> gpc test.pas gpc: installation problem, cannot exec `mips-tfile': No such file or =directory Do I need to install any library othe than including in the binaries =distribution. For a quick fix, you can try inserting the line: #undef HAVE_LLSEEK into rts/rts.h, after the line: #include "rts-config.h" This will disable 64 bit file access, until we can do this right. This is the trouble I encounter with gpc: +++ bash-2.03# pc hello.p ld: cannot open crtbegin.o: No such file or directory bash-2.03# locate crtbegin.o /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-suse-linux/2.95.2/crtbegin.o bash-2.03# +++ How can I tell gpc to locate the requested file? regards, Huge Rademaker

Indent program for the GPC

Hello, I try to develop a `CÂ´-like indent progam for GPC and Pascal written in pascal with the GPC. I read in the ToDo-List for the GPC that there is no indent program. So I have two questions: 1. If there is anybody who is creating such a program like this now, and ... 2. How can I contribute to the GPC project with my program? Of course, please don't think the program is ready. I was born yesterday night and there are nothing more as a few lines (program ... begin ... end. ;-)))) ). But they will grow up. The name for the ready program is 'pindent' with serval command-line switches (they will coming up step-by-step) and in the future I will try to port the program into a FreeVision- and/or GTK-style where the user can see the result of the original file in a second window after processing with pindent. Compilation error: TOC overflow

Hi, all together. My name is Uwe Bauermann, i'm 36 years old, and i'm using Linux since Kernel 1.2.xxxx. I'm a trainer for computer-science in germany (Velbert). Once upon a time, i have learned programming in Pascal while my study-time in Berlin (germany). Now, i am the man at the blackboard to teach Computer-Science for adults. In nearest future my topic is 'Programming with Pascal' and i decided to use GPC on Linux. I think i would have thousants of questions soon. ;-) And hope i get some answers from this discussion group. The first follows up ..... CVS is back

Hi all, as some of you might have noticed, there haven't been any new GPC versions for a few weeks. This was due to some inconsistencies in our working code base. Furthermore, the CVS server had an unplanned downtime after a system upgrade. Both problems have been resolved now, so you can find a new alpha and CVS release at the usual places. Indent program for the GPC

Hello, I read in the ToDo-List, that the GPC-project needs a `CÂ´-like indent program. So I want realise this program and I would ask 1: if there is anybody who writes a same program? 2: how must I contribute to GPC or is my email contribute enough? (this is my first try to contribute to a GNU project) I will create this program in pascal with the GPC :-)). The first program lines are born yesterday night and will grow up step by step. And for the future, I have a few ideas for the program (FreeVision/GTK-style) but the first steps are reserved for the command-line version. Thorsten Hindermann <Thorsten.Hindermann(a)arcormail.de>
