In the lates available alpha 10301999 there were no problems related to bash extensions, at least I did not experienced any. The recent version builds on Solaris flawlesly...
Neither GNU make, patch nor (I think) install should be required.
... but GNU patch is necessary. GNU make and install are optional, at least for me. I'm using Solaris 7 and 8 on Sparc and x86.
