I found out what I was doing wrong with the DIFF file, but despite my knowing what's wrong, it doesn't solve my problem :( I'm stuck with 2.01b until the next compiled ZIP'd version. The file names get corrupted despite my using WinZip, by corrupted, I mean that some filenames didn't translate properly (I just love the gpc-2.7.2.1.patch file). I'm sorry I'm being such a pain in the butt, I just want to get updated :(
