Maintaining a broadly portable compiler is no easy task. But it seems clear that the Unix-like OSs are the future. Today I took time to read up on signals, IPC, terminals (ie; any serial character device). Of course all the system calls are unreadable C. Readable Object Pascal on a powerful Unix desktop. For a guy who started by feeding punched cards with fortran; wow. Great progress. Thanks.
