HI Randall, I had the very same thought! I thought right from the beginning that GIselle/Mila looked an awful lot like the Hispanic CANDI doll!! Would be interesting to know WHO did the sculpts for these dolls!! Looks much like Sandra Billottos work!! BUt couldnt say for certain! Thanks, Melissa for posting your reply from Integrity. They are such a wonderfully responsive company! I learned today that also available from K-Mart in addition to the Photo Hunt Mila is Color Rave Mila. I haven't seen reports of her being found yet but she is supposed to be out there from what I was told today, so you may want to keep checking the stores. Her hair color is the same as will be used on the Color Rave Jade dolls, if you want to reference the color from the Jade pic on my site. It's blue with a pink streak. I was also told that the Mila head mold was used because of the short lead time for production. Next year when Giselle appears, she is to have a brand new head mold and the Mila head mold will be used only for Mila dolls. BTW, the Justin in the Wedding Set with Giselle currently uses the Alejandro head mold but I also learned that next year they plan on doing a brand new caucasian male head mold!!!! The new mold will then be Justin. Gads, hope all that is clear, LOL. I can get some of the Photo Hunt and Color Rave Giselles but not until the first part of September. For those of you who want one and don't have any K-Mart stores in your area, or you are overseas, if you want to preorder one from me, please let me know. Karla, Yes, she is interested in dolls already! Every time she sees the dolls, she says "Barbie, Barbie...." I have mostly Barbie dolls, OOAKs, but she also calls the Genes "Barbie" as well. Luckily, most of my expensive ones are out of her reach (for now anyway)! But for right now, she is more into cuddling with her own baby dolls and mimicking me with her little brother (who is 6 months)! She tries to change her dollies diapers and puts them in the baby swing and walker! Hello and goodmorning, I have so many new dolls (and no room) LOL. I just got my order from Suzanne. First of all, I have to comment on my (Jan Mclean) Lollipop doll. I ordered Pipi, she is the cutest little thing! I reccomend that you all take a look at these dolls if you haven't already. I just can't get over how darling she is. I ordered just one so I could see how the hair was rooted, how the joints were dones, quality, etc. Well, I am very impressed. I am getting all of them (but unfortunately that also means that I have to talk myself out of some other things to pay for them). I can't even stand the thought of not owning all of the Lollipop girls. Also I got lots of new Integrity dolls. Embassy Ball Alysa, Janay, and Mila, I like them all. Alysa is nice because she's the first Alysa that I've had with black hair, she really looks great in her original outfit. This new Janay face mold looks great with flocked hair! Global Peace and Photo Hunt Janay share the same face paint (or at least the ones I got from Suzanne do). I went to KMart this morning and fount Photo Hunt Alysa, but she's not the same as mine, she's the same doll as the Heat Wave Alysa. But I also found Photo Hunt Giselle! And they had the bridal set with Giselle and Justin! It's all so confusing. I haven't even opened all of them yet but I hope to have Michael take some photos once I do. Josie and the Pussycats acessories- drums, guitar, two microphones, two sets of tails and ears, etc. the instruments are great, especially if you display your dolls in scenes or something. $5.00 I'm going to have to get rid of a few more dolls to make room but they all keep screaming "No, not me! I know I worry about redoing the large dolls, as I can see me making some huge mistakes, and at those prices I am not comfortable. I have a huge bin full of thrift store goodies to redo, so if I screw up so what? I only buy ones with unusual face molds ( steffies, deedees, Disney, and Mackies as they have stopped using those in the playline) and still I have a bin full. Boy, do I need to get to work! I also have to live with hubby, who tolerates my doll purchases to a point. I love to point out to him that Gene is all his fault, as he bought me my first one for Christmas one year. I was perfectly content till I got one in my hands. LOL, but still the price can be pretty steep. I prefer dolls in the under $50 range for the most part, as I feel that is fair for most of them, and less likely to cause a budget ruckus. On another note, I did recieve Feline Formality yesterday. The Fed Ex guy stopped in front of my house, and I thought to myself "Gee, I'm not expecting anything" Saw that Integrity Logo on the box, and remembered Suzanne is not using them. I was jumping up and down, and practically grabbed the box out of his hand. Poor man! Box packed great as usual, Suzanne, love the bumpersticker!! So here is a quick revue of the doll. On first sight, I loved the new octagonal packaging. I thought it was really sharp looking and I think for people who like to display in the box it will be great. AS a deboxer, I was less thrilled with getting the doll out. It took a lot longer than the quick unties of the ribbon on the shoe box style box, but at least she was still tied instead of sewn and wired. Took a while to get to all the accessories, but I love the new shoe mold, and the little shoe box is great. I really like the fact that the earrings are shipped out of the doll, since Candi has a pretty rapid green ear problem. Outfit and hair are gorgeous. Beautifully lined and fitted. There was a small stitch needed to keep the top of the jacket together on the doll, but I prefer that to double stick tape. Love her hair. The French twist is so sophisticated. About the only thing I am not real sure about is the lipstick color. Seems a little pale to me, but that is personal taste, and not a doll flaw. The thing that really put me over the top on this one was the fact that her toenails were painted. What a great little detail. I just love this doll. I am so tickled to be able to fall in love whole heartedly with Candi again. Off to play dolls now. Sorry for the novel! Kathy M. >I think you may have stumbled onto one reason why 15.5" dolls may ultimately be a difficult sell for the long haul. I know when I buy a bigger doll I do have to think long and hard about where the doll is going to be displayed or stored. And they can be 'spensvie, too. The problem I have with smaller dolls is that they ARE too easy to buy. Well, not high-end collectible dolls, but many of the ones I like to think about buying for creative expression are as easy as going to the Goodwill and spending $3 for a nekkid one. Though I won't do that because for an extra $2 I can get one fresh in the box and the hair isn't wrecked. Still, $5 or $3, a whole lot can start to accumulate in my basement...I am a lot more restrictive about my purchases when there's more money involved in the investment. Hi, all! At KMart yesterday, I found some new Jakks Pacific dolls in narrow boxes called Fresh Looks Friends. There were some in plaid pants & sleeveless top and some in black/another color gown for $3.99 each. Several haircolors; very nice. At Ames today, I found the Kari Mitchell doll & clothing sets for $12.99. The doll is nothing much, but the outfits have lots of mix & match possibilites & are made of nice fabrics & knits. They also had some Jakks Pacific Fresh Looks Friends Sets with doll & several outfits; these latter were pretty basic. But, it is nice to see new dolls & more competition for Babs... Melissa
