GNU Pascal calls GNU C

Hi, I am trying to write some examples to demonstrate calling C functions from Pascal. I can call void functions with no parameters, but I am wanting to be able to pass variables. My efforts so far include pcallc.p, ccall.c, ccall.h and Makefile. If function w1 and references to it are removed, it works fine. I am just wanting to learn how to pass variables. Any help would be gratefully received. installation problem, cannot exec `gpcpp'

Hi, I realise this is probably more of a MinGW problem than a GNU Pascal problem, but I thought someone here might know the solution. I've seen a few similar reports in the mailing list archives, but I cannot seem to find one that is identical. First off, I'll tell you how I went about installing Gnu Pascal to run under (networked) Windows XP:- 1. Run MinGW-3.1.0-1.exe 2. Run MSYS-1.0.9.exe and point it at the MinGW installation. 3. Install gpc-mingw-gcc-2.95.3-6-depends.tar.gz 4. Run gpc-2.1-mingw-1.exe 5. Add c:\mingw\bin to the (Windows XP) command path. So far so good, everything works, and I'm able to compile hello.pas from MSYS with no problems! The problem occurs after I change directory from C: (where everything is installed) to another drive. Then when I try to compile hello.pas, I get:- $ cd /s/ $ gpc hello.pas c:\mingw\bin\gpc.exe: installation problem, cannot exec `gpcpp': No such file or directory Can someone please advise? Is this to do with mounting? My mounts look something like this (if it helps):- C:\msys\1.0\bin on /usr/bin type user (binmode,cygexec,noumount) C:\msys\1.0\bin on /bin type user (binmode,cygexec,noumount) C:\msys\1.0 on / type user (binmode,noumount) C:\msys\1.0 on /usr type user (binmode,noumount) c:\mingw on /mingw type user (binmode) a: on /a type user (binmode,noumount) c: on /c type user (binmode,noumount) d: on /d type user (binmode,noumount) p: on /p type user (binmode,noumount) s: on /s type user (binmode,noumount) t: on /t type user (binmode,noumount) Any help greatly appreciated! cheers, Ian

bug missing gpcpp

I am running windows XP and I am getting an error when trying to compile a pacal program. The error reads: gpc: installation problem, connot exec 'gpcpp': No such file or directory. I have downloaded and installed the patch from the MinGW website and a few others as well and all give the same error. This error, according to the patches documentation, shouldn't be happening on XP but it is and the patch fails to fix the bug. I'd apreciate and help, advice, or what ever can be done to help. PDCurses and msys

Hi I have seen a funny thing when running a crt program in the msys environment, using pdcurses-2.6. This is the program: program Foo; uses crt; var i: Integer; begin clrscr; for i := 1 to ParamCount do WriteLn (ParamStr (i)) end. This is the weird error I get when I run the program: "LINES value must be >= 2 and <= 1: got 1 initscr(): LINES=1 COLS=1: too small." If I do "export LINES=25" and run the program again, I get: "LINES value must be >= 2 and <= 1: got 25 initscr(): LINES=25 COLS=1: too small." If I do "export COLS=80" and run the program again, I get: "LINES value must be >= 2 and <= 1: got 25" Obviously there is a problem somewhere. How can a value be ">=2" while being "<=1" at the same time? This is a new mathematical experience for me! Any clues? Thanks. A question to intialization of objects

Hello ! I didn't have found a satisfying answer in the archives to the following problem: In BP the constructor of TObject resets all datafields to 0 by assuming a simple type to the SELF-pointer with the length SIZEOF(SELF). This allowes all further derived objects to reset their datafields just by calling INHERITED TOBJECT.INIT(...); in their constructors. Creating Objects in Delphi resolves also zero-initialized datafields. GPC does not so when creating a simple Object by NEW (OBJECTPOINTER, INIT(...)); Is there a way in GPC to do something similar to the TObject-Constructor from BP within the constructor of a basic object or could it be implemented in GPC that creating a new Object with NEW will zero the memory allocated for the new object ? A Question to RHIDE ...

Hello ! I've got one problem with RHIDE: I need some conditional defines according to the programs destiny. Say these are COND_A and COND_B. Calling GPC from a commandline I need to add --CIDEFINE=COND_A and --CIDEFINE=COND_B to do so. In RHIDE a can give additional compiler options. This works well as I add only one of both defines, like --cidefine=COND_A but when I enter --CIDEFINE=COND_A --CIDEFINE=COND_B the compiler-call won't work... Does anyone here nows a solution ? Dear Eike, You are welcome to my matrix inverter. It compiles on GPC, and is simple to use. The inverter uses a cut-down version of Gausse-Jordan elimination. I have not yet implemented the routine with GPC's schemata types. When I do, it will be much neater. Until then, it uses pointers.
