The problem seems to be a general one with variables of Array[AType] of String(Capacity) which we use quite a lot. The capacity of the string if not always set. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not and I can't find the pattern. Setting the capacity of each string in the program gets round the problem. Theo Carr-Brion

Hello, The tarball of gpc binary distribution is containing a file "gpcpp", in the lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.6/2.95.3/ directory, where as the "install-gpc-binary" script from gpc site is checking for 'gpc-cpp'. we are running the 'install-gpc-binary' file contained in /gcc-2.95.3/gcc/p/script, instead of the same available on gpc site. gpc install problem on cygwin-w98

Hello! I have tried to compile gpc-20010924 on a cygwin system (windows-98 Pentium 2). I think I follow the instructions in the Install file thoroughly but the compilation fails. The configuration seems to work without problems (I get promped for the patch for gpc-2.1; I use the gcc-core-2.95.2 source found at the gnu-home-site) After a few seconds of make, however I get: gcc Hi built gpc same way as always ( no CVS ) and gpc -v gives Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/@target_alias@/2.95.3/specs gpc version 20010924, based on 2.95.3 20010315 (release) As is, test fails miserably. quick kludge: found cp -r \@target_alias\@/* i586-pc-linux-gnu works. the i5 etc directory is where everything should have been. then test results are: tests 1763 pass 1762 skip 1 fail 0 russ

Hello, I am able to build the zipped gpc binary file and when i run it in another machine , it works. But i would like to add the "sysutils.pas" to the units and the corresponding "*.inc" to say,a separate directory "include" in the build directory and then "mak" the binary. * I am able to add the sysutils to the units directory of the tar.gz file but how do i add the "include" in the binary .tar.gz file?This is the first problem. * Second is , when i gunzip and use it in another directory with this sysutils also zipped,it says "-f-extended-syntax and -Wno-warnings unknown".this doesnot happen when i build the binary without the sysutils added to the units directory. How do i add such files to the tar.gz then? Dear sir: I've got a problem in running GPC. I really don't know if it is a bug but the fact is that my GPC cannot compile any program. my program is: program er; var a: integer; begin a := 2; writeln(a); end. The reaction of GPC is gpc1.exe: Invalid option `-famtmpfile=e:/djgpp/tmp\ccaaaaaa.gpc' and the version of my GPC is gpc version 19990510, based on gcc-2.8.1 (the file I downloaded is gpc-19990607-djgpp.zip) Please help me to solve the problem. Welcome to the wonderful world of INTERNATIONALIZATION (i18n). This unit provides the powerful mechanism of national language support by accessing .mo files. It includes: locales (not xlocales, because its just 'draft') and libintl. Actually, there are no tools available, so you have to create your .po files by hand. See documentation for gettext ('info gettext') for details. You can download the actual sources via ftp from: agnes.dida.physik.uni-essen.de/pub/home/lange/ Filename is inter-20011005.tar.gz Missing is a tool for creating .po files out of .pas files (like 'xgettext'). Hello, The problem was i had done the configure and make in the source directory. I see the gcc directory after i gave them in build directory. The make pascal.bindist runs fine with GNU tar. It stops with an error saying that it cannot remove the 'tmp' directory.I find that it is the last statement in the makefile for the above command and so am going to use the .gz that's created. gpc-20010924 configure problem

I am trying to generate a gpc binary for cygwin. For this I downloaded the gpc-20010924.tar.gz sources, as well as the gcc-core-2.95.2.tar.gz from the same ftp server. After unpacking both files, I moved p directory into gcc-2.95.2 dir as stated in the INSTALL file. Then I created a directory called gpc-cygwin-build in gcc-2.95.2 directory, moved into that directory and gave ../configure --enable-languages=pascal as said in the INSTALL. But this did not give the expected result: according to INSTALL the configure script should have asked me if I wanted to patch gcc sources, but the whole configure process ended without any question. The generated Makefile only contained LANGUAGES="c c++" lines.... Did I forget to do something before running configure ? Is this a problem with case sensitiveness of environment variables ? i.e. should I rather use --enable-LANGUAGES=pascal I tried this out, but the main Makefile still looks the same and no file was patched. I don't understand how configure should be aware of the fact that it should patch gcc sources ? All is in the p subdir, but that subdir does not even seem to be read....
