I'm beyond the patch and diff stuff, I figured that out, the problem I'm having is that some filenames get mangled. Does DJGPP's DJTAR support Win '95 LFN? I tried WinZip, which is supposed to be able to restore long filenames, but there was one particular file (for example) gcc-2.7.2.1, something like that, which didn't extract to that file name. I've even resorted to manually renaming the files, but that didn't work either. Unfortunately I may have to resort to installing Linux in order to compile the sources. Wow, I thought it didn't need introduction :P It's a cross-platform renderer (previewing the rendering only on MS-DOS, Windows, and Mac I think). As for licensing, I think it's distributed under the GNU License, but then again it might be freeware, I don't remember :( Where to find it? Check: http://www.povray.org See ya! Orlando Llanes

The last official beta version that came with binaries was gpc-970714; after that there were some (inofficial) patches. It *is* easier to get a patched source tree from Linux than it is from DOS: Just start the Linux compilation process (or actually compile if you want to do that anyway), then move the source tree to your DJGPP partition, boot DOS, and run `config\msdos\configur.bat' from the `p' directory. Inline keyword not recognized (+ work-around)

Here is a minor problem (bug) in GPC: According to the GPC documentaion you can define a function/procedure to be inlined with the "inline" keyword, e.g. inline function Max (a, b : Integer); begin (* CODE *) end; This does not work in the 970714 distribution (DJGPP precompiled binary). However the __inline__ keyword (two underscores before and after inline) *is* recognized by the compiler, and correctly inlines the function/procedure (when compiled with optimization, of course).
